Bahut Mushkil Hai

Our National Carrier proudly announced that the flight out of Kulu has been delayed – deferred would be ideal – by over two days, joyously adding that no alternate arrangements have been made. My wish of staying on was materialized, the alternate normally being a casual walk to Chandigarh around 320 Kms away. We did reach Chandigarh by road, an overnight drive. The MDRL flight was to take off at 7.10 A.M, but was also deferred. But unlike our INDIAN, the boys there were helpful, getting us all some piping hot tea. Public enterprise – Private enterprise, Apathy – Apologetic. But I felt we were there during the happy hours, one flight free for one taken, since we returned to Chandigarh after an aerial view of the Capitol due to the traffic at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, which post we finally attained towards noon. Long last we reached the Domestic terminal after an extended tour of the runway.
