Good bye ' 07

Like the Ants that crawl from labor to rest and back, so does the shadows close on a supposedly eventful year.

Are we trying to be nostalgic, or weary of the coming?
Where does distance merge into time?

To all those who now live in space, on blogs and mails and messengers, are our tired wings ready to take a flight into the future?

FIRE IN THE HEART

We make much use of the word 'heart' in our lives - it is the first place we were prepared to be made a Good Human Being.

We work towards our heart being expanded by benevolence; we dedicate our heart to the glory of God and the welfare of our fellow mortals. But we seem to interpret this all too often in the sense of philanthropy and compassion, in other words in relation to our fellow man, and not towards ourselves. In fact the heart is at the centre of all we should do on our path to achieve self-knowledge, and the constant search for divinity within the individual.

This is not an academic pursuit - it is the true meaning of life, and through it we hope to 'unfold the beauties of true godliness', to ignite that spark of divinity which resides in each one of us, without which it is so much more difficult to be a truly good and compassionate member of the world we live in.

So wrote Dippy. (certain words changed)

Some are burdened by the fire of their anger, aimed at destruction, more of themselves than others intended. One cannot claim fame to hapiness, as long as he or she is burdened by this anger - mostly from the past and actually inconsequental.

Sirius – The Bright Morning Star – and the Dogon

The Dogon tribe lived predominantly in the area around Male, West Africa, and is believed to be of Egyptian decent. What is astonishing about them is a strong Astronomical knowledge believed to be from around 3200 B.C.

According to their legend, Sirius had an invisible companion star which had an elliptical axis and orbited the visible star in a 50 year cycle, and also rotated on its own axis. The companion was considered a very heavy star.

There is recorded evidence of the Dogon passing on this legend to a team of French anthropologists in 1930, fascinating it was considering that Modern Science could photograph this invisible star only in 1970, using extremely powerful telescopes. This is the star we call Sirius – B.

According to a Dogon legend, Earth had visitors from the Sirius system many thousands of years ago. They were called the Nommos, and were considered Amphibious in the likes of Mermen and Mermaids. They also appear in Babylonian, Acadian and Sumerian Myths, and are linked to the Egyptian Goddess Isis, who is often depicted as a mermaid. By the Dogon legend, their home planet orbited another star, and their journey to earth was in an Ark. The Dogon was also in possession of astounding information, like that the planets orbited the sun, that Saturn had rings, and that there were four moons to Jupiter. Was Galileo looking? The Dogon also felt that there was a third star – Sirius C, and it was around this that the home of the Nommos orbited.

Was it that we really had such illustrious visitors passing on profound knowledge of the Skies and the Stars? or was it figments of imagination based on raw Astronomical information?.
Astounding, considering the fact that different civilizations, far flung from each other and Un informed about each other’s existence, all had different stories to tell where the essence was the same – Threads of a Fabric.

Siva did call

What was I awaiting?. The call from nowhere. And then, out of the pine forests - HELLO SIR, HOW ARE YOU, SIVA CALLING!!!. I danced the Tandava. He should be calling soon yet again, and of course preparing for the trip South- sometime in Feb, hopefully.

One can still hear the whisper of the mountains, feel the soft snow melting on the cheeks, nostrills flaring. He knew where one ought to be - the Valley of the Gods. there, in the midst of nothing, Shunya, I hear the spells of nature - life breathing in the exotic. Where is the Meseleuthe?.

Ariyatha sowgandhigangal viriyum
Azhakinde kanchanachaya

The fragrant flower which blossom in the shade of beauty – yet to be understood

Is that the meaning of Love?

Like the 100 plus pronunciation of ‘OAM”, is there 100 plus manifestations of the feeling of affection?

MEASURE THE INTENSITY???

Bahut Mushkil Hai

Our National Carrier proudly announced that the flight out of Kulu has been delayed – deferred would be ideal – by over two days, joyously adding that no alternate arrangements have been made. My wish of staying on was materialized, the alternate normally being a casual walk to Chandigarh around 320 Kms away. We did reach Chandigarh by road, an overnight drive. The MDRL flight was to take off at 7.10 A.M, but was also deferred. But unlike our INDIAN, the boys there were helpful, getting us all some piping hot tea. Public enterprise – Private enterprise, Apathy – Apologetic. But I felt we were there during the happy hours, one flight free for one taken, since we returned to Chandigarh after an aerial view of the Capitol due to the traffic at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, which post we finally attained towards noon. Long last we reached the Domestic terminal after an extended tour of the runway.

BAHUT MUSHKIL HAI – The outside world

The Light within the Darkness - 01

Did I tell you that our Siva, (the auto chap) on being queried about who the Chief Minister of Himachal was, felt that it must be Atal Behari Vajpayee? When we mentioned Rajiv Gandhi’s name, his answer was – Wo Manali se M.P nahi!!!(Pardon my Hindi). Far removed and unnecessary is such information to him. One must learn from the likes of our Siva.

Explore the path to Ignorance – the light within the darkness!!!

Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha, the four purusharthas – where do one start and the other end, or would pre fixing be necessary?

Today - how do we get to Rohtang Pass?
For Shiva – Possible
For Road – Not possible

The trust he places on the road is not as that he places on the Lord! But we still request our Shiva to somehow get us there – Crazy, he replies.

OAM SHIV SHAKTI – 24 HOURS

When I mention that I was lucky in getting Snow, he mutters – “Lucky, you feel. I feel Shiva has given you”.

The Bukhari is the center of all.

The Bright Morning Star

The Bright Morning Star

Is the Bright Morning Star Sirius of the Ancient Egyptians or Venus of the Babylonians?

Sirius, known scientifically as Alpha Canis Majoris is from Orion. If one were to look south and to the east, you would find brilliant Sirius (as if one really needs directions to find the brightest star in the sky). Its name comes from the Greek word for "searing" or "scorching," certainly appropriate for a star that shines at the bright end.
Famed from times long past, the first glimpse of Sirius in dawn announced the rising of the Nile in ancient Egypt. (It no longer does because of precession, the 26,000-year wobble of the Earth's axis.)

Venus was a major Roman goddess principally associated with love, beauty and fertility, the equivalent of the Greek goddess Aphrodite. She was the consort of Vulcan. She was considered the ancestor of the Roman people by way of its legendary founder, Aeneas, and played a key role in many Roman religious festivals and myths.
Venus was commonly associated with the Greek goddess Aphrodite and the Etruscan deity Turan, borrowing aspects from each.

Additionally, Venus has been compared to other goddesses of love, Tlahuizcalpantecuhtli in Aztec mythology, Kukulcan in Maya mythology, Frigg and Freyja in the Norse mythos, and Ushas in Vedic religion.

Ushas is also linked to Venus by a Sanskrit epithet ascribed to her, vanas- ("loveliness; longing, desire"), which is cognate to Venus, suggesting a Proto-Indo-European link via the reconstructed stem *wen- "to desire"[1].

Another interesting association with Venus is the Latvian god Auseklis, who's name derives from the root aus-, meaning "dawn". Auseklis and Mēness, who's name means "moon", are both Dieva dēli ("sons of God").

Would the Taj yet again be an eternal monument of Love? or would it attempt to make 'Darkness Visible' - Would the Journey be one IN PURSUIT OF NOTHINGNESS???

On the voyage thro the Annals of Ethics,Physics and Theoria, Dionysius talks about the Utter Transcendence of God, of the Divine Darkness. He elaborates to conclude that one can only Know by Unknowing. That is the light at the end - the Shunyata-nothingness that transcends over Time and Space.

On being informed of the Oracle of Delphi's Declaration that Socrates was the wisest of men - the learned man replied that he was aware of what he did not know - that thought undoubtedly elevating him above the plateau of the mundane with its simplicity.
Light erupted, in the knowledge of the ignorant.

In Conversation with Lord Shiva

You have been generous, showering me with the first snow of the season, sitting here in Vaishisht – at the Rainbow café.

Far above the bubbling sulphur springs, the cold sweeping you off your feet. We are cut off; I am informed - good – makes it impossible for anyone to come up also – Mutatis Mutandis. Not many here in this winter.

The Tibetan fellow, he has been trying to warm up the stove in the center – Bukhari or something they call it – someone tells me he has been on it from yesterday. An attempt at futility, lot of energy burned, no Heat absolutely. He is happy at being the cardboard box burner. His actions reflect tranquility.

The Lasagna is excellent, so are the pancakes and the chocolate ball.

Time stands still – somebody did ask the time!

The swami is puffing away at his Four Square – sharing half with the doe eyed – as he does his food which they consume after a prayer
She made me laugh, and I think I made her too

The Kiwi tells me that he has been trying to leave the place for the past 15 days – he says MAYBE today – that is a profound word

Shiva - our Rick driver says anything POSSIBLE here – First I thought he did not comprehend the Import – He does more than I do

He says – Shiva 24 Hrs, Proprietary marketing!!!

Seems the Dharma guest house here provides cozy and warm acco – maybe clean too!!!

Encapsulated like a pine cone
Distancing myself from my thoughts
Can I be the president of my knowledge?
